lksa.uk — short links for every spot, forecast and page
Thursday 9 July 2026 — London Kitesurfers — by Alan Jay
Typing londonkitesurfers.com/spots/greatstone.html into WhatsApp mid-conversation is nobody’s idea of fun. So we bought the shortest domain we could: lksa.uk. Everything on the site now has a short address you can type from memory, say out loud on the beach, or stick on a poster — and they all just redirect to the right page on the main site.
The ones to memorise
- lksa.uk/w — the weekend forecast (also /wknd)
- lksa.uk/wd — the weekday forecast
- lksa.uk/map — the spots map
- lksa.uk/go — who’s going today
- lksa.uk/app — get the free LKSA app
- lksa.uk/s/gs — a spot forecast: s for spot, then the spot’s code (that one is Greatstone)
Spot codes — lksa.uk/s/…
The codes are the acronyms the WhatsApp group already uses, plus obvious ones for the rest. Each goes straight to that spot’s 7-day wind & tide forecast.
Kent: /s/gs Greatstone · /s/dym St Mary’s Bay / Dymchurch · /s/min Minnis Bay · /s/wh Whitstable · /s/wb Walpole Bay · /s/mst Minster
East Sussex: /s/cam Camber Sands · /s/coo Cooden Beach · /s/pev Pevensey Bay
West Sussex: /s/lan Lancing · /s/gor Goring-by-Sea · /s/lh Littlehampton · /s/ew East Wittering · /s/brk Bracklesham Bay
Hampshire: /s/hay Hayling (Beachlands) · /s/cbk Hayling West Beach (CBK) · /s/hh Hillhead · /s/cal Calshot Spit
Essex: /s/ut Uncle Tom’s Cabin · /s/eb East Beach (Shoeburyness) · /s/pc Point Clear · /s/fri Frinton-on-Sea
Further afield: /s/po Poole Harbour · /s/por Portland Harbour · /s/hun Old Hunstanton · /s/bra Brancaster
Can’t remember a code? lksa.uk/s on its own takes you to the full spots list — and an unknown code lands you there too, never on an error page.
Link to a specific day
Sharing a Saturday plan? Add the date to any spot link and it opens with that day’s card in view:
lksa.uk/s/gs#d2026-07-11 — Greatstone, jumped straight to Saturday 11 July.
The format is #d followed by the date as year-month-day. Links shared from the LKSA app do this automatically.
The rest of the site
lksa.uk/spots all spots · lksa.uk/ft the every-spot forecast table · lksa.uk/trips beach trips · lksa.uk/events events · lksa.uk/blog this blog · lksa.uk/join membership · lksa.uk/safety safety · lksa.uk/faq FAQ
And if you type anything else after lksa.uk, it simply forwards to the same page on the main site — short links here never die.
So next time someone asks “what’s it doing at Camber on Saturday?”, the whole answer is: lksa.uk/s/cam.
See you on the beach.
