Cooden Beach

Works when the wind has a westerly component — SW is optimum; WSW and W also good. Best at mid to low tide; low tide can expose rocks so look before launching. Open-sea waves and chop — bump-and-jump for intermediate+ riders. Short walk from Cooden Beach station. Schools: Goose Kitesurfing (Herbrand Walk), Be-Rad Watersports (Pevensey-based, uses Cooden in strong W).
