Hayling Island Beach (Beachlands)

Hayling Island has two launch points: one run by CBK (you need a day pass or membership from CBK) near the Inn on the Beach, and the other — this one — from the Chichester Beach car park, the Public Beach launch site, generally 500–800 m downwind of CBK. Outstanding flat-water spot in the Solent with a broad usable range from E through W. Best at low to mid water — avoid ~1 hour either side of HW. Sandbars at lower tide give flat conditions ideal for all levels; outside the sandbar zone there is more open-sea texture. The sandbar by the CBK launch beach forms a flat lagoon >1 km out around 4 hours either side of low tide. Very popular at weekends.

Tide times: UKHO Admiralty predictions via Admiralty Tidal API. Times in BST, rounded to nearest 5 min. Wind & temperature: Windguru multi-model composite (AROME-FR + UKV 2km for the first 60 h, then ICON / Zephr-HD / IFS-HRES / GFS out to day 7). Map: © OpenStreetMap contributors.
Forecast accuracy — forecast vs reality (archive)

Pick a past day to compare three things: the forecast we published (frozen before each hour, never revised afterwards), the wind that actually happened (Open-Meteo reanalysis, hours 05:00–21:00 UK), and what the live weather stations near the spot actually recorded (amber, from 2 Aug 2026). You can go right up to today — today shows the forecast and the live stations; the reanalysis for today lands tomorrow morning.

Important: Forecasts are model-derived and may change. Always verify on Windguru and check local tide tables before you go. LKSA accepts no liability for decisions made based on this forecast.
