Pevensey Bay

Popular mid-Sussex spot between Bexhill and Eastbourne. Shingle beach at high tide giving way to sandy open beach at low tide; a sandbank at low tide flattens the water and reduces chop. Works best in SW and S (S gives better waves over the sandbar); also rideable in SE, NE, and E at higher tides. Home base of Be-Rad Watersports.

Tide times: UKHO Admiralty predictions via Admiralty Tidal API. Times in BST, rounded to nearest 5 min. Wind & temperature: Windguru multi-model composite (AROME-FR + UKV 2km for the first 60 h, then ICON / Zephr-HD / IFS-HRES / GFS out to day 7). Map: © OpenStreetMap contributors.
Forecast accuracy — forecast vs reality (archive)

Pick a past day to compare three things: the forecast we published (frozen before each hour, never revised afterwards), the wind that actually happened (Open-Meteo reanalysis, hours 05:00–21:00 UK), and what the live weather stations near the spot actually recorded (amber, from 2 Aug 2026). You can go right up to today — today shows the forecast and the live stations; the reanalysis for today lands tomorrow morning.
